[News] [PS3]

In approximately 2 hours from right now, Japanese gamers will be the first to lay hands on the next entry to the next-gen console race, the long awaited PlayStation 3. The United States will have to wait another week to have the privilege, and our unfortunate European friends across the "pond" will have to wait until March because of engineering times endured creating the console's Cell processor, and the availability of Blu-Ray devices.

According to Guardian Unlimited, Nolan Bushnell, the founder of Atari, recently attacked Sony's latest offering. "The price point is probably unsustainable. With the PS1 and PS2 it was timing. They had the right pricing at the right time - almost the accidental winner." Rather amusing when you compare time-adjusted pricing of Bushnell's Atari 2600 to Sony's PlayStation 3.

Regardless, only time will tell how the launch will fare, but undoubtedly, Sony will have no problem selling as many units as they produce for quite sometime.
