[OpEd] [News]

Well, we told you it would happen, but you wouldn't believe us, would you? Your beloved EA, has done just what we said they would. They bought and sold your a$$.

According to this post on the ShackNews forums, "When you open the box, a big slip of paper falls out first, preceeding any discs or manuals. The slip of paper says, essentially, that 2142 includes monitoring software which runs while your computer is online, and records 'anonymous' information like your IP address, surfing habits (probably via cookie scans), and other 'computing habits' in order to report this information back to ad companies and ad servers, which generates in-game ads."

I might expect this from second rate, flyby night software company that's utilizing unscrupulous methods to survive, but not from the largest video game publisher in the world.

But maybe we're all just blind. After all, a company that treats its own employees so poorly, is unlikely to have any loyalties, not even to those that made it what it is: their customers.
