Game publisher, MumboJumbo, has penned a deal with Universal Pictures to create a game based on the U.S. television series The Office. The as of yet unnamed "Office" game, set to be released this fall, will be available for online download and on multiple game platforms, including PC, PSP, and Nintendo DS.

"The cast and creators of `The Office` have done a fantastic job delivering a show with a personality all its own. MumboJumbo is an innovator in the casual games space, and developing a game with them that combines the quirky characters and humor of the show with a proven, addictive game mechanic we think will be welcomed by fans and casual game players alike." - Bill Kispert, vice president and general manager, Interactive, Universal Pictures Digital Platforms Group.

MumboJumbo has published a number of successful casual games, including many of the popular PopCap titles such as Bejeweled, Zuma, Hexic Deluxe, and Cubis. Can this kind of game publisher create a successful product based on a hit television show, especially one as obscure as The Office?
