Each Tuesday in the United States, the latest videogame releases hit store shelves, and this week is no exception. But this week, may be a little different.
Of the big games hitting shelves today, The Simpsons Game is the one I'll be picking up this afternoon. Although I wasn't entirely impressed with the 'Lard Lad' demo released a few weeks ago for both PS3 and Xbox 360, I do have high hopes that some of the other levels and the voice acting will make for an entertaining game. The graphics were exceptional, so I'm hoping they can deliver on gameplay.
In addition to The Simpsons Game, a bit of controversy comes our way today. Rockstar's Manhunt 2 hits the States today; sorry United Kingdom. There is no telling if it will ever be available there.
Available on the Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 2, and PlayStation Portable (PSP), the sequel is, according to the latest press releases, "a dark and disturbing psychological story revolving around the
sinister events of a secretive research project called The Pickman
Project. Plunging into the depths of human psychosis, terror and
paranoia, the twisted plot and brutal gameplay conspire to create the
most atmospheric gaming experience ever..."
"Manhunt 2 has gone through much to reach this day. We are very excited
that fans will finally get a chance to experience the magnificent
horror experience we've crafted with Manhunt 2," according to Sam Houser,
Founder and Executive Producer of Rockstar Games.
Personally, I am waiting for the Jack Thompson 'shit-storm' that should be arriving in a courtroom near you soon.
