Flight Simulator X: Acceleration, the first expansion pack for Microsoft Flight Simulator X, is set for a fall release. The pack includes a bunch of extras and enhanced DirectX 10 graphics (although DX10 is not required to run the FSX: Acceleration).
New aircraft, missions and play modes are some of the highlights of Acceleration. Just to show off their latest offering, Microsoft released a gallery full of new screenshots. A link to the gallery as well as the detail on the expansion pack are available after the break.
Multiplayer Racing Mode
- Allow gamers to compete against friends
- Four types of racing
- Real-world and fictional Red Bull Air Race courses
- Reno National Championship course
- Cross country competition sailplane courses
- Fictional courses like the Hoop and Jet Canyon course
- Gamers will be able to test their skills in three different levels of difficulty
- Simple pylon racing to racing very challenging courses in a variety of weather conditions
More than 20 new missions
- Ranging from a fighter jet test pilot to search and rescue
