A long awaited sequel has now turned from hope into reality.

 Publish Paradox Interactive has announced their plans for a sequel after their acquisition of the license for the Majesty property.  Majesty 2 will reinvent the aspect of the original game while keeping many of the essentials that made the original game so majestic. Updating the world to the 21st century will help the game avoid a stagnant feeling but the original charm and humor will still be an integral piece.

In the word of Paradox Interactive VP Fredrik Wester himself, "Our aim is to release a fantastic game that not only encourages existing fans to renew their passion for the series, but also to reach out to the broader gaming community that has grown so much since the original was released". 

Majesty 2 is planned to arrive on the pc early 2009 and at this point, confirmation for other platforms will be announced later.  Does this mean that the series is moving to consoles?  Inconclusive; my money is on a Mac version being announced.
