[News] [PC]

When I ranted about the future of gaming and how games could become more interactive to their users I hadn't realized that one company already has a great product available.

TN Games has created a gaming vest that gives users a physical interaction with the game.  The 3rd Space gaming vest utltizes air pressure that rapidly inflate precise pockets around the vest to simulate an impact.  Each weapon you fire also gives kick back and each will act differently.  I was first surprised that the vest fit a man of my stature when I first put it on.  My second surprise was how directional I could feel shots that were being fired upon me.  My back normally doesn't receive physical stimulation and my nerves were tingling with the activity.  It actually feels like a finger100_0836 is prodding you in your back, over and over, repetitively and all over the place.  Ok, so the product does work better when you suck at a game but it certainly can give players a competitive edge with the directional input.  It was an unusual but enjoyable experience and I certainly hope I can spend more time wearing the vest in the future.

The 3rd Space Gaming Vest currently supports the following games:

  • Turning Point - Fall Of Liberty(Version 1.0)
  • You Are Empty (Version 1.0)
  • Blacksite (Version 1.0/1.1/1.2)
  • Bioshock(Version 1.0/1.1)
  • Frontlines: Fuel Of War (Version 1.1)
  • Rainbow Six® Vegas 2 (Version 1.0/1.02/1.03)

  • TimeShift (Version 1.2 SP)
  • Crysis (Version 1.1/1.2/1.2.1)
  • Unreal Tournament 3 (Version 1.1/1.2)
  • Clive Barker's Jericho (Version 1.0)
  • Halflife 2 - Episode 1 (Steam Version)
  • Halflife 2 - Episode 2 (Steam Version)

  • Enemy Territory Quake Wars (Version 1.4/1.5)
  • Quake 4 (Version 1.4.2)

I asked about future games and was told that they do try to work on getting new games constantly added to the list of supported titles.
