You guessed it: Indiana Jones! This George Lucas directed tale takes place in 1939, and spans the globe as only Indy can.

According to LucasArts, the 2007 release takes advantage of "the revolutionary new euphoria technology from NaturalMotion, which delivers never-before-seen lifelike action and awareness to every character in real time - so you'll never see the same thing twice. "

If you don't know Max (or his partner Sam), I pity you. You have truly missed one of the great adventure games of all time.

"Sam & Max are a pair of fictional comic book characters who occupy a parody of American popular culture. Sam is a 6-foot anthropomorphic dog in detective's clothing and Max is a "hyperkinetic rabbity thing". Created by Steve Purcell in a 1987 comic book, the characters are probably best known for their 1993 computer game, Sam & Max Hit the Road." (Source: Wikipedia)

[News] [X360]

So it's being reported that the Xbox360 price was dropped ten quid in the UK. So now it's only 199 quid instead of the original 209.

But Microsoft is saying it didn't issue a command to the collective to drop the price. Of course they are denying it because they have always said they would increase the value and not drop the price. And we all know that the HiveMind would never lie to us, it is our lifeblood and source of all sustenance.

But the merchants are saying that it's a directive issued from the HiveMind. And really the merchants just want to make money too so they would want everyone to know the price just went down, regardless of where the order came from. But I find it strange that all the merchants would simultaneously decide to drop the price at once without the command from central intelligence.

So who's telling the truth? Maybe that's not the right question to ask. Maybe the right question to ask is:

Who has more to gain from lying? or Who has more 'face' to lose?

[OpEd] [News]

A U.S. District Judge has wiped out the Louisiana law banning the sale of violent video games.

Our Hero Jdg. Brady

This follows the new precedents being set in other states and the laws are beginning to fall like a house of cards.
It's about time. The world has been trying to blame all sorts of things on video games, film, music...whatever scapegoat they can think of to no avail. Maybe now people like Jack Thompson will crawl back under their rocks and, instead of blaming someone or something else, begin to take responsibility for their own shortcomings. Parents need to speak with their children to be sure that they understand the things they see in film, on television and in video games aren‘t real.

You know things are bad when *I* scoop the Valve-head. In the Et tu Brute department Valve has announced that Half-Life 2: Episode Two will be delayed until early 2007. Probably because of all the printing required to get just the title of the game onto a box.

Of course this no longer surprises us as I'm fairly certain that everything, including Christmas and the whole year 2007 have now been delayed due to being behind schedule. Granted, it takes a lot of work to make up a whole year and we don't really all like getting older so no one ever sweats it much if the new year is a few days later.

[OpEd]

That's 11,499 Czech Crowns, the expected retail price of the system when it hits shelves here (I live in the Czech Republic) later this year. (About $522)

The core system will go for a meager 8,999 Czech Crowns. (about $410)

Are they mad? Did they not do any type of research on this? And what's up with the major price difference between here and America.
