CigdangleCigDangle was blessed with a father who loved electronics: a trait he passed onto his son. He can remember playing marathon sessions of Combat on the Atari 2600 his father purchased when CigDangle was only 4 years old. He would later broaden his horizons with games like Space Invaders, Pitfall!, and Demon Attack.

Then, when CigDangle was only 10 years old, his father would make a purchase that would change his life forever: a personal computer.

It began with a game console that offered PONG. (Were they even called consoles back in 1980?) TurboGoat's parents never bought the same system as everyone else, so it was PONG, but not really PONG. That electronic marginalization continued with the VIC-20 when he was 8. While the Vic20 was the hot thing at that time…it would be the last time TurboGoat's parents stayed abreast of the latest in computing trends.

TheGirl was recruited shortly after winning a contest when we found out she could and was interested in writing. She officially started with Generation: Gamerz when she submitted her first article to us Wednesday, 07 November 2007.

Being TheGirl of Generation:Gamerz, you'd think that her expertise would be in Lion King and Kingdom Hearts. And yes, while she HAS played (and beaten) them both, they are far off on her list of favorite games.

SPOmniBot OmniBot started playing video games at a very young age.  Born in Milwaukee, WI during the summer of 1978 he has racked up a very long history of gaming.  Mastering games also became very important as he is a competitive freak.

From his first step into competitive gaming by making it into the semi-finals 1990 Nintendo World Championships at age 12 (in the 12 - 17 year old bracket no less!), winning 3 separate stores in the 1994 Blockbuster World Championships, and winning the CyberAthlete Amateur League - Open Divison for Return to Castle Wolfenstein being the best at games has always been in his blood.  OmniBot has been on many successful teams in CAL and TWL in many games over the last 8 years but has since run out of time for competitive gaming.

FarmerDave was indeed born on a farm just outside Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1960, long before the era of commercially available videogames.  The first videogames he played were the arcade games like Asteroids, Assault, Battlezone, and Space Invaders. After working on the farm, he would travel to a nearby mall where he would exchange $5 for a fistful of quarters and play the games until the arcade closed.  When it closed, he would then drive to the local airport and play Tempest.

"Keeper" Hefald was born in 1988 in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.  Therefore, unlike most of the other members of GG, Hefald does not remember Pong or any of the early Atari consoles.  His first memories of gaming involve playing Super Mario World, Ice Hockey, Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!, Battletoads, and Tecmo Bowl on his NES and SNES.

Now, all grown up, Keeper teaches 1st grade students at a rural town in Wisconsin and has enjoyed teaching kids for the past 6 years. She also holds a Master's degree in Instructional Technology, making her "qualified" to play and review the ever-growing numbers of educational games for kids.

Snorkle256 grew up in a world of jealousy. He was surrounded by friends who had video games and he didn’'t. He grew up bitter and envious of gaming consoles and was bound and determined to have his own someday.

We're not sure of what diseases Snorkle256 may get in the future from all the second hand gaming he has encountered. One thing is for sure though, that won’t matter because Snorkle256 now games himself and is obviously addicted.
