[News]

At first when I read about this I thought it was cool but not cool enough to post about. Then I continued to read the whole thing and thought "Hell yeah, the gamers should know about this one." So here it is. Babel, an outsource company for game testing and localization (or localisation if your British) is looking for a hoarde of new Babelian, Babelites, Babelanians...they need more people so they are recruiting 150 new functionality and localisation testers for their facilities in Montreal and Brighton.

I always wanted to speak several languages and I do a fair job at a few, but I am just not qualified unless they want someone to spell check, fix the grammar and proof read the English. Then I'm their man. This is mostly aimed at people who speak another language natively. But it's still cool.

Babel is continuing to grow to meet the industry’s increasing commitment to outsourcing, as publishers address the demands of delivering next gen and current gen titles concurrently. The team is working with most of the world’s leading publishers on high profile titles across all PC, Console, Handheld and Mobile platforms, as well as a number of long term MMO testing contracts.

Babel is recruiting over 100 new functionality testers for its Montreal facility to work in their PC, Console, Handheld and Mobile test labs. Recruits need to be avid gamers with a good standard of written English, and available for full time or part time work. Further information is available on www.babelmedia.com/jobs

Babel is also recruiting localisation testers for its PC, Console and Handheld test labs in Brighton and Montreal. Babel is looking for native speakers of French, Italian, German, Spanish, Dutch, Portuguese, Finnish, Norwegian, Danish and Swedish. Full training will be supplied and recruits wishing to relocate to Babel’s Montreal facility from Europe will be given relocation assistance. ”We’re working on some of the world’s biggest games right now, expanding like crazy” said Algy Williams Managing Director of Babel. “If you’re interested in working in videogames, for a fun company, with great prospects within the industry, get in touch!”

Babel is the largest provider of specialist outsourced services to the global videogames and interactive entertainment industries. The company offers an end-to-end post-production service that supports all game platforms, consoles, PCs, handhelds, mobile devices and online media. Babel’s expert services portfolio includes functionality testing, localisation testing, fully managed translation services, audio casting, voice-over recording and sound effects, and print design and production. Within the mobile market, the Company offers complete mobile game QA, certification and deployment services.
