[PS2]

Finally, a chance to show off your rocking skills at the video game that has made nearly everyone a rock star, again: Guitar Hero II.

Gamestop will be holding local tournaments at their stores on Saturday, February 3, 2007. Not too many details are known at this time, but you can go here and signup to be notified as more details become available. Please be aware, this does not register you for the tournament. You will still need to visit your local store to register.

The game is awesome, if you haven't already played it. If you don't own it, you can order it here, and still have time to polish your skills before the tournament.

This is one that will make the Sony fanboys jump for joy. It seems their latest "obsession" has entered the fight against cancer, Alzheimer's and possibly other diseases as PS3 compatible version of Cure is made available. Cure is Stanford's humanitarian take on Berkley's SETI program: it utilizes a distributed computing model to analyze scientific data on thousands of PCs world-wide, and sends the info back to a central database. Now Sony's powerful, new Cell Processor can help as well.

[Wii]

I apologize for the lapse in articles this weekend. I like many of you, spent time with family and went shopping with the crazies. I found this excerpt at GulfLive.com and felt it a great way to wrap up a holiday weekend.

Master Sgt. Keith Davis formed United Wii Stand at Keesler Air Force base to the Nintendo game console for disadvantaged military families.

"There are a number of military families that are facing financial hardships because of Katrina," Davis said. "A lot of these families don't have the funds to pay for something like this for their children."

Davis said the organization would also like to send at least one Wii to Afghanistan and one to Iraq.

"It gives the troops a sense of coming home after they come in from outside the wire," Davis said. "They are able to forget what they have to do there, and the fighting, and relax."

How cool it that?

[GC]

Ok so they sent me this last week but I had to run out of town and was quite busy. So my apologies for the delay.

Trace is a Kriken, one of the most hated and feared races in the galaxy. Every Kriken, when he or she reaches a certain age, is exiled by its clan for a rite of passage. In this ritual, the youth is sent out to find a world suitable for invasion and consumption by the greedy and rapacious Krikens. Young Krikens who return having successfully found a habitat for their people are regaled as heroes, and are assured a life of power, wealth, and prestige.
