[News] [Retro] [Wii]

This week is so big it's MEGA! Mega Man hits the Wii V.C. along with China Warrior from Hudson Soft. Mega Man is one of the franchises that has been absent from the Wii Virtual Console but that has been remedied with his appearance today.

Mega Man - NES - 500 points - 1989

Mega Man is pitted against the powerful leaders and fighting forces of Monsteropolis. Brilliant scientist Dr. Light originally conceived the construction of fully-operational human-like experimental robots to perform specific everyday duties. Dr. Light, and his assistant, Dr. Wily, encouraged by their very first near-human robot - Mega Man - proceeded to develop six additional humanoids, all programmed to perform specialist tasks: Cut Man, Ice Man, Guts Man, Bomb Man and Fire Man. The experiment was a success, but Dr. Wily turned disloyal, re-programming Dr. Light's humanoids to use their powers to allow him to control the world and its resources. The only robot to survive Dr Wily's evil plan was Mega Man, who volunteered to be the defender of the universe and its inhabitants - to single-handedly  penetrate seven separate empires of Monsteropolis, and to eliminate the leaders and followers of their sovereignties. Ge ready for some very exciting challenges!

China Warrior - Turbografx-16 - 600 points - 1989

China Warrior is a side-scrolling action game that was released around the same time as the PC Engine (Turbografx) was in Japan. It's up to the Kung Fu master Wang to defeat the Dark Emperor, who stands at the top of the Kung Fu world in China. Punch and jump kick your way through all the enemies between you and the three bosses of each stage. Skillfully fight your way through all 4 stages. Be sure not to miss the recovery items while dodging enemy attacks! China Warrior boasts character size and detail rivalling all the other games at the time of its release.

The one-on-one fights against the game's realistic bosses will get you so excited that you'll feel like you're in the middle of a Kung Fu movie!

I sure do love the copy on some of these games. But I'm not so sure I want to feel like I'm in the middle of a Kung Fu movie because it looks like it might hurt.
