[News] [X360]

I have another big Xbox Live Update this week.

Part of this is again my fault, as I failed to see a few of last week's releases.  Hopefully, I'm all caught up!

Xbox Originals

First off, I apparently missed a few Xbox Original titles from last week's initial release.  Since I don't see any new games released this week, here are the three originals I missed.

Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex
1 Player - Rated E - 1200 Points - Traveller's Tales - 2002

Action and excitement are brought to new heights as everyone's favorite Bandicoot comes to the Xbox. Known worldwide as one of the most popular character franchises ever, Crash is packed full of incredible graphics, realistic effects, and hilarious characters.

Having been defeated one too many times, Dr. Neo Cortex has developed a super-secret plan to finally rid himself of his arch-nemesis, Crash Bandicoot. He discovers the resting-place of the Elemental Powers and unleashes their destructive energies upon the earth.

  • The biggest adventure yet: Enjoy 30 new, action-packed levels in massive, rendered environments.
  • Multiple modes of vehicular mayhem: Control 8 different vehicles, from a crop-duster to a giant robot suit.
  • Two can play at this game: For the first time ever, play as Crash's tough-as-nails sister, Coco.
  • Positively eyeball popping: The most dazzling special effects ever seen in a Crash game.

Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge
1-4 Players - Rated T - 1200 Points - Microsoft Game Studios - 2003

Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge combines thrilling aerial combat with the swashbuckling style of a Hollywood action-adventure movie. Set in an alternate 1930s world of gunship diplomacy and sinister intrigue, Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge lets you pilot powerful aircraft against nefarious air pirates and behemoth war zeppelins.

As the daring air pirate Nathan Zachary, leader of the infamous Fortune Hunters, take off on a high-flying adventure, filled with daring escapes and damsels in distress!

Fuzion Frenzy
1-4 Players Versus - Rated E - 1200 Points - Blitz Games Ltd. - 2001

Fuzion Frenzy combines the continuous, frenetic action of a futuristic street sport with the action-packed fun of mini-games set in a dynamic 3-D urban environment. Six arenas and more than 45 mini-games provide plenty of competitive fun for up to four players.

  • Non-stop action: The fun never ends with Fuzion Frenzy's continuous action-packed game experience! Unlike turn-based games, Fuzion Frenzy provides real-time play for all players in both the main game and the mini-games.
  • Appealing mini-games: Fuzion Frenzy contains many different types of mini-games designed to broaden the appeal of the party game. All of Fuzion Frenzy's mini-games provide head-to-head, fast-paced, action-packed competition which require strategy and skill to conquer.
  • Futuristic theme and characters: Fuzion Frenzy's edgy, urban, futuristic environment delivers a party game core gamers can relate to. Gamers immerse themselves in the various futuristic arenas for a more compelling gaming experience.
  • Dynamic environments: Fuzion Frenzy includes highly interactive and constantly changing urban-arena environments. These changes make for a unique game playing experience every time.
  • Superior graphics and sound: Impactful and advanced visual effects and sound features are made possible with the power of Xbox technology.

Xbox Live Arcade Releases

Arkadian Warriors
1-2 Players - Coop (local or via Live) - Rated E10+ - Wanako Games

Define your legacy. Awaken your inner beast. Fight as one of the three powerful warriors of Artemis as you confront Gorgon herself in Arkadian Warriors. Embark on a trek of epic proportions, traverse treacherous dungeons, fight off hordes of hideous enemies, and take on heinously powerful bosses. You must save the goddess Artemis and return the mythical land of Arkadia to the people. Warriors … unite and defend!

  • Three mighty warriors: Choose to play as a Soldier, Archer, or Sorceress To save the land of Arkadia.
  • Unique abilities: Each warrior has unique fighting and shape-shifting abilities. Turn into a Phoenix, Lion, or Dragon to increase your power and crush your foes.
  • Character development: Build up your warrior's skills and inventory along the way with more powerful magic, deadlier weapons, and stronger defensive units.
  • Unique dungeon generator: Never battle enemies in the same dungeon twice.
  • Intense multiplayer co-op action: Play side-by-side with a friend, or take the battle online and conquer Gorgon in co-op multiplayer.

GripShift
1 Player or Versus - 2-4 Players via Live - Rated E10+ - Sidhe Interactive

GripShift combines high-flying platform gaming with extreme stunt driving action. Test your reflexes and bend your brain as you stunt your way through 120 twisting Challenge Mode levels across four uniquely themed worlds.

Collect power-ups, avoid traps, and beat the clock as you compete for top leaderboard slots in single player mode, or deploy an arsenal of funky weapons and go head-to-head across 25 Race Mode tracks and 20 Deathmatch arenas in online multiplayer. Choose your driver, unlock faster vehicles, and customize your ride with new skins. GripShift is a gravity-defying thrill ride every racing fan must experience!

  • Challenge: Race through 120 single-player Challenge Mode levels.
  • Race: Put the pedal to the metal for 25 rubber-burning Race Mode tracks.
  • Deathmatch: Fight for survival in 20 deadly Deathmatch arenas.
  • Multiplayer: Jump into Xbox Live online multiplayer and leaderboard.

If you've never played Fusion Frenzy, my suggestion is "Don't Bother".  It's a horrible multiplayer party game, and at 1200 points, it is just not worth it.  GripShift looks like a cool little racer if you need a fix (it was released months ago on the PS3 through the Playstation Network), and Crimson Skies is one of my favorite Original Xbox titles.  If you have never played, here's your chance!
