The best games of Nintendo 64

Nintendo 64 was a console that broke the standards of video games back in 1996 when it was launched to the international public. As of the third Nintendo console it managed to capture and magnify the family of the great N, which had been growing at leaps and bounds from NES and SNES. Today in a tribute to this console, we are going to show a collection of the best games for Nintendo 64.

The best games of N64

Nintendo 64 was formally dubbed Nintendo Ultra 64 and its particular number refers its processor 64-bit which meant a big leap in relation to previous consoles of the company. In addition to this list, you can read about the best games in the history of Nintendo. One of the curiosities that became so controversial to this console was that, unlike its competition, it continued to be used cartridge ROM as a form of distribution of their games.

This partly meant some confidence from the players who came of old consoles but not so developers who preferred to work with the new CD ROM for consoles such as the Sega Saturn and PlayStation One. For this reason many of the best Nintendo 64 games were developed by Nintendo or companies contracted by the N Grand, something that continued with subsequent consoles such as GameCube, Wii and now Wii U.

Super Mario 64

Super Mario 64 was one of the titles that accompanied the release of the console in 1996. Together also was the best-selling Nintendo 64 game, surpassing the 11 million copies. It allowed us first to Mario to a fully 3D world with which players virtually collapsed, an addictive and entertaining game, a sample of what Nintendo was brought in between hands. This game is our selection of the most influential video games of the 90s.

Super Smash Bros 64

Forget that old commercial where we saw a Pikachu, Mario, Yoshi and Donkey Kong jumping by Prairie amicably for then seam in a brutal fight in the middle of the pasture. Super Smash Bros 64 changed the way how we saw the characters from Nintendo and it was one of the first games to combine different characters under a single title.

GoldenEye

Without a doubt one of the best games for Nintendo 64 was Goldeneye. The story of Agent 007, James Bond, within a graphics engine 3D exceptional for the time. Action, espionage, tactics and many worthy of a great spy gadgets combined to give life to this fantastic title that not long ago got its reissue in GoldenEye 007: Reloaded.

Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time

What can we say about Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time? That no doubt if you haven't played it you should, because it not only is in the number two of our ranking of the best games of Nintendo 64, but also very well positioned between the best Zelda games and best games of Nintendo.

Mario Kart 64

Yes, Mario Kart 64 is the best game Nintendo 64, not only be fun, addictive and have all the characters, but for being one of the most entertaining games that exists until today when we refer to multiplayer games. Spectacular racing, in scenarios that depict each of the Nintendo franchise and characters with powers which also refer to them; if you have never played Mario Kart on any of its editions should, because you're missing something big, very big.
