Driver San Francisco is eager to please. After the one-year extension of development time, Ubisoft has brought three of its primary responsibility for presentation in Spain: Martin Edmondson, founder of Reflections and alma mater of the series, chief designer Jean Sebastian decanted and responsible for the multiplayer.
Edmonson said that the basic idea that moves Driver San Francisco is the intention of returning to the roots of the series, which made the first game of the series a hit in 1998, "return what was to be a unique experience of game", he said. For Reflections, this is closely related to the car that includes the game, more than 130 vehicles with a licensed real spot for muscle cars of the 70's where the game is set with a good suspension and plenty of power.
To recover that spirit the developer has used the same characters of the first games of the series: John Tanner, the undercover cop and his partner of Driver 2, Jones, get back on the Dodge to try to catch Jericho.
But will not always remain in the emblematic car, but that Tanner will visit numerous vehicles. Phase is not on foot, one of the weaknesses of the reviled Driver 3, but a feature that constitutes the second pillar (after the return to the roots) of the main game and innovation: the Shift that allows Tanner make a kind of astral voyage that takes him out of his vehicle to take over the body of another driver. "It will be an important part of story mode and the multiplayer" promises Edmonson.
Decant played the first half hour of the game, which will soon start using the Shift key to move forward in missions. The first shows, Tanner becomes the driver of an ambulance. It is a quick way to change vehicles without even opening the door of your car. As said Edmonson, along the game you can develop this feature.
Driver San Francisco will have some 200 missions, including the challenges, some directly based on car chase movies of the 70's. The game will be released for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 in September 2011.
