Some interesting facts about Mortal Kombat

Mortal Kombat is one of the most popular franchises in fighting games and knew part of the vanguard gore of its kind. From 1992 to date, the project originally started by Ed Boon and John Tobias has nine editions and a long grind over 10 years Arcade platforms and rooms (God rest).

Noob Saibot

The Animality started as a rumor 

One of the fatalities most popular Mortal Kombat 3 was the Animality, where the executor became an animal to kill their enemy. Oddly enough, this idea came from a rumor played by fans of the game in magazines during the time of Mortal Kombat 2. 

Like all myths, supposedly a few players had managed to make this complicated movement where the fighting became fierce; of course it was a lie. But a positive result, developers saw a potential demand for Mortal Kombat 3 and the myth had become fact, implementing Animality as one of the ways to kill the enemy. 

Johnny Cage is Jean Claude Van Damme 

Originally the game Mortal Kombat would be a film adaptation of the popular 80's Bloodsport, with the emergence of the popular Jean Claude Van Damme in the game. For these things of misfortune and fate, the agreements image rights never materialized leaving the project into oblivion. 

Anyway, Ed Boon took up the job half done and offered it to Midway Entertainment, which ultimately led to the first Mortal Kombat with Johnny Cage taking over from Jean Claude, in fact, the initials are a nod to popular Belgian actor. 

It is the pioneer in violence 

Besides the great gameplay and compelling story, Mortal Kombat was also a very famous game by being in the center of controversy due to high gore for its time. But what nobody knows is that Mortal Kombat was not, even remotely, the first game to exploit the blood as alluring factor for the player. The first game to soak up this style was the shooter of 1986 called Chiller, perfect for family play.
